I recently saw a video of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards playing a killer acoustic cover of “Honky Tonk Women.” The Open G chord riffs that Keith hits are a masterclass in rock-n-roll rhythm, and you can hear the influence of Chuck Berry in those chunky, double-stop riffs. For this arrangement, I wanted to keep that vibe, but add in the vocal melodies with the guitar slide, to take it back to the Delta!
