Sequencing a scale can immediately make that scale sound more interesting and musical while also serving as a great technique challenge!
It’s important to always find new exercises to practice because you don’t want muscle memory taking over too much and it not having the desired effect when practicing.
This is a great sequence to try using the good ol’ pentatonic scale but in a way that keeps your fingers on their toes… wait, what?
Use it as inspiration to come up with some of your own challenging sequences with any scales you’re familiar with!
Then after spending time practicing them and building up the speed, these are licks you can add in your “toolbox” of ideas when improvising or writing solos!
